February Zen class: Recommendation for sitting meditation – 3 Wednesday evenings

The zazen which I am talking about is not learning (step-by-step) meditation. It is simply the dharma-gate of peace and joy (nirvana). It is the practice-verification of the ultimate awakening (bodhi).

If you practice suchness continuously, you will be suchness. The treasure-house will open of itself, and you will be able to use it at will.

This three-session class offers both practical instruction in zazen and investigation into the philosophical meaning. You will be invited to practice zazen, and we’ll examine the effects and troubleshoot challenges.

Three sessions: February 7, 14, and 21. Wednesday evening. Class begins at 6:30 pm Central Time, with 15 minutes of zazen (sitting meditation) followed by presentation and discussion, ending at 8 Central Time and followed by an optional sitting period to 8:30.

Because people have donated in the past, I’m able to offer this class freely. I encourage you to make a donation to support future classes and events.  Because I personally dislike vague donation requests, I suggest these amounts for the three weeks:

Supporter: $150 covers teacher’s time, preparation, materials, administration; internet plus Zoom; a little something for space, and a generous scholarship donation.
Cost: $100 covers teacher’s time, preparation, materials, administration; internet plus Zoom; a little something for space, if there are five participants as usual.
Your fee: Pay the amount that works for you, from zero to anything.
Commitment for all three weeks is strongly requested.
