April-May Zen class: The Wholehearted Way – Monday evenings April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27
Bendowa, “the wholehearted way”
“When even for a moment you express the buddha’s seal in the three actions by sitting upright in samadhi, the whole phenomenal world becomes the buddha’s seal and the entire sky turns into enlightenment.”
The text is a poem of praise for the practice of zazen, including insights into the nature of practice and reality that are the core of my own teaching. Doge includes some personal notes and a Q&A section addressing common misunderstandings.
Monday evenings, April 15 through My 20, 6:30-8 with optional sitting afterward. Class begins at 6:30 pm Central Time, with 15 minutes of zazen (sitting meditation) followed by presentation and discussion, ending at 8 Central Time and followed by an optional sitting period to 8:30.
