Beth Goldring Dharma Talk at NBMC (Northfield)
My friend Beth Goldring, founder of the Cambodian AIDS project, will be giving a dharma talk in Northfield Sunday Morning, October 7th, 2018. She says about her topic:
“I have been doing some work over the year over the relationships between the Buddhist ethical system, which may often seem restrictively personal, and the problems surrounding us at every level. Mostly I have been using Joanna Macy’s three distinctions: personal ethics; interpersonal ethics; and structural injustice and Hannah Arendt’s fundamental intuition of the Banality of Evil (I was fortunate enough to study some with Arendt in the 1970s).”
She mentions speaking at a level appropriate to the group.
Beth is a member of our Advisory Council.
